Cáceres Old Town Region

CONCLUSION

The city of Caceres is located in the Extramadura autonomous region of Spain, in a very unfamous position in the Iberian peninsula today. The part of the city that covers the study is ''the old town region''. Unlike today, the city's passing through certain trade routes has made the city an important center in the past. ''The Old Town Region'' entered the Unesco World heritage list in 1986 because it complies with the 3rd and 4th criteria. 3rd The reason for entering from the criterion is that the walls of Almohad from the moral period (the wall formed by the strengthening of the existing wall with defensive towers took its name from the almohad dynasty that reigned in the andalusia when King Philip threw the Muslims from the Iberian peninsula) 4. On the other hand, certain congregations between 14th and 16th centuries lived in competition in the city and there was a spatial composition caused by this situation like that; towns, mansions, squares… The Old Town reflected this spatial phenomenon in a preserved way caused it to enter the 4th criterion. First, for example, since it has already entered the unesco heritage list, as it is already very well physically organization, subsequent policies are concerned with ensuring the economic sustainability of the city, researching its history and using spatial conditions properly. As a result; Caceres was included in the World Heritage list in 1986 due to the blend of Roman, Moorish, Northern Gothic and Italian Renaissance architecture. However, a special conservation and revitalization plan was made for the Old Town in 1990. The population of the city increased 4 times between 2004 and 2019. Regional Government and Caceres are in the hands of the City Council. The city council of Caceres is doing projects related to the promotion and protection of the city. If its historical significance had not been grasped and had not been included in the world heritage list, Caceres would have been more economically difficult due to its distance from the central and developed regions, and preservation of the historical heritage would have been more difficult. In this example, the concept of protection emerges as ensuring the economic continuity of the city, protecting property rights, improving environmental factors and making an advertisement.
