BUILT ENVIRONMENT of Yeşilçam Neighborhood

In Yeşilçam neighborhood, the buildings are generally 3 floors and are reinforced concrete, rarely seen in single storey and masonry structures. On the northwestern North-West axis of the neighborhood, there is 22% slop on the north end and 70% slop on the north-south axis. In the center of the neighborhood ,there is the Yeşilçam Mosque and Muhtar (Picture3). The mosque was financed by the source of the money, which was collected scrap and sold them by the people who lived there because of the small size of the mosque (4). The neighborhood has a grid structure and the 2002 horizontal streets are the backbone of the neighborhood and the height of this spine towards the north east axis increases by about 35 meters (Figure 3). The slope increases when it is diverted north and south from these streets (Figure 3). The buildings are sloped and there are steep roads and stairs in the neighborhood (Image 2,3,4). This sloping building causes floods and muds in rainy weather (1).

It has a additive form for additions can be made according to the needs of buildings (Image 6). In buildings, each floor consists of 1 independent section, meaning that a family lives on each floor (Source: Izmir City Guide). Trade concentrates on the main axis (2001, 2002 st).

There are many coffee houses in the neighborhood. Due to the fact that the road to the Kemalpaşa street(ring road) connecting the city to the center is connected to the ring road, there are logistics companies are located. There are 8 bus stops in the neighborhood, 2 family health centers, 2 mosques and 1 petroleum office (city guide). In last years, the municipality started to build a recreation area, wedding hall and condolence house for the neighborhood (3). Recreation Area in the arrangement of the carpet field, wedding hall and condolence house is located.
